A Windy Day

This quilt started out as a cot quilt for my grandson. Paper pieced and hand stitched it never made the cot. We spent many days on the beach at Port Sampson. The objects on the quilt were collected from the beach and the ceramic pieces scavenged from an early settlers household tip at Cossack W.A. This quilt represents a page from a diary of our life at Wickham W.A. The wonderful freedom felt, walking along the beach, the wind gently whisking up the sea. We were just wandering, collecting odd bits of flotsam.
It was shown at an exhibition in Perth in 1993.
