Home Sweet Home

In Scotland the head of a deer is often placed in a central position over the mantlepiece as a symbol of adventure, travel and home. I have covered it in fabric as a symbol of our collection of memories from France, referencing the artist Magritte with the sky camouflaging the horns. I have hung souvenirs from it as well as bits of those memories personal to me.
We often bring back items not really of any value at all, a card or a cake wrapper to jog Parisian memories.
Exhibited – Back from Beaujolais; Gawler Community Gallery. April 4th-Aug 11th 2013.
